Helping GoodWill Turn Donations into Cash, Faster
Sellhound Inc. announces a partnership with Neatoscan, the leader in resale inventory systems, to provide Goodwill locations nationwide access to its patent-pending Enhanced Vision technology. SellHound converts photographs of donated items directly into listings that can be sold on marketplaces like ShopGoodwill.com, eBay, Poshmark, and others.
Goodwill operates over 3,200 retail thrift stores, generates over $6 billion in revenue per year, and redirects over 3 billion pounds of goods from landfills. Processing those items requires many steps including reviewing the item’s quality, determining whether to sell it online or in a Goodwill retail store, photographing the item, writing a description for potential buyers, and listing it in the appropriate marketplaces. Goodwill can now quickly and efficiently process items for resale using Neatoscan’s inventory management system with SellHound. The new integrated system will create complete and optimized listings faster, turning inventory into cash to support Goodwill’s mission.
SellHound technology will initially be used to process clothing, shoes, handbags, and other fashion-related items. In the future, SellHound will be used to process donated items in other categories like sporting goods, toys and hobbies, home goods, electronics, and others.
Shoppers searching at ShopGoodwill.com will be able to find secondhand items faster and see better search results given SellHound’s ability to capture a greater number of item attributes and describe each item more consistently than manually written listings.
“SellHound has built a powerful tool for resellers. We have been creating industry-leading tools for over 15 years, and we’re excited to extend our lead in providing the very best tools” said Andrew Heitke, CEO of Neatoscan.
“It’s an honor to make an even bigger impact in the circular economy. By processing, listing, and selling more secondhand items faster we’re doing our part to keep millions of items out of landfills and putting them into the hands of others who will love them again” said Keith Lauver, CEO of SellHound.
Goodwill locations can contact SellHound at info@sellhound.com or Neatoscan at info@sellhound.com to sign-up for early access to this new service.
